ABOUT JACKBOY'S
TM
Jackboy’s Dog Bakery is a bakery of all natural,
olive oil baked human-grade gourmet dog treats
and baking mixes for dog owners to get involved
in baking their own healthy dog treats. Our company
is founded on the principle of supplying the means
to reduce the consumption of potentially harmful
chemicals, color dyes and additives in commercially
mass-produced dog treats.
Jack, more frequently called by the name Jackboy
around the house, is a 80-pound big red dog. He is
an All-American dog …....yes, he’s what we adorably
called a mutt. Jackboy was a stray when Jackboy’s
dad (Steve) found him. We decided to make him a
part of our family real quick. I am Jackboy’s mom and my name is Athena. Jackboy has
employed me, paying me with lots of doggie love and slobber, to run the show. Jackboy's Dog
Bakery was founded out of a lot of love but mainly a lot of fear for Jackboy and his doggie
friends.
Back in early 2007, we had a major pet food crisis when many dogs and cats died from eating
poisonous pet food containing tainted wheat gluten from China. These pet owners lost their
furry companions while many others spent hundreds of dollars in vet bills trying desperately to
get them back to health. A few weeks later, there was another pet food scare when a major pet
food brand manufacturer recalled one of their product line due to the suspicion of poisoned
ingredient. At that point, Jackboy and I started to look into exactly how healthy the food we are
getting from these commercial manufacturers. I cannot even pronounce some of the chemicals
in the pet food I’m feeding Jackboy! That is when Jackboy and I decided to start making our
own snacks and treats out of all natural ingredients. No added preservatives, artificial colorings
and artificial flavors. We do not even use commercially produced beef or chicken bouillon.
When we say all natural, we are committed to keep it all natural.
The results………Jackboy loves the fresh baked goodies and I got a lot of satisfaction from the
whole process of creating the cute cookies in different shapes and baking them all from
scratch for my Jackboy. I’ve never seen his nostrils flared up like what I’ve seen when I gave
him the very first fresh baked cookie. Oh the joy of seeing my dog loving what I’ve baked for
him! Most importantly, I now know that Jackboy is eating safe, healthy and wholesome food
…… at least snacks and treats. Jackboy and I like to share these precious gifts with every dog
and owner out there.
